Cooler fan operation

Just wondering if the chip controls the grounding to instruct the cooling fan to come on or if it is another portion of the ECM. I know the temp you want it to start up is controlled by the chip. I have checked out all the wiring as far as I can tell and the cooling fan does not start when needed and points to the ECM. I have bought a new chip from turbo tweak but that did not help. I have hooked up a ground wire to the low speed relay for now to start the fan. Let me know if the ECM itself has control of anything or any other info that you might see that could be the problem. Thanks.

The ECM control that output, and the temperature is set in the chip. My chips are normally set to about 165 degrees.
If that output is not grounding at that temperature, then the ECM might be bad. Fan control is pin D2 at the ECM connector.

Thanks very much. I will check pin D2 and if that's not working I will order up a new ECM. Where is the best place to get one?

You may be able to order from a parts store, or ebay. There are no new ones, just remans.

Eric,
Thanks for your reply, I did some checks, but thought I would confirm before buying a new Ecm.
I checked the voltage at D2 of ECM which goes to low speed relay and the voltages were correct. Approx 12v key on and 13.5v with engine on. I did another check when engine was at 175f and got the same values, does this confirm that the ECM is not switching? The fan will come on if I ground pin D2.
Thanks Blaine
