I have a GENll translator with the G chip it's been giving me grief and I borrowed a regular translator and chip to confirm it was the problem.
Will the Axis unit work with my chip my lone race of the year is 3 weeks away if push comes to shove I can borrow a stock MAF and chip but the chip is programmed to lock the converter and my converter is. Not built for that.

The Axis chip won't work properly with the GenII because of the way the spark control is set up. The Extreme G chip can be modified with the Axis spark control function though.

So if I went to an Axis system my G chip would not need to reflashed and I could adjust the timing and fueling thru the Axis?

No, sorry if that wasn't clear. The G chip would need to be reprogrammed in order to work with the Axis box.
